Here be Dargons

I went a bit crazy at Messy Mansion the other day and bought four new nail plates. I threw in MM21 on a whim really...liking the designs obviously, but not expecting I would use it excessively...

The two polishes I used are Novel Nail Polish Dragons Trump Everything and Essie Delicacy. I have gone on at lengths about how much I love the Essie, but today's big star was Dragons Trump Everything. Below you can see two coats of Delicacy with three thin coats of Dragons as a topper and a healthy thick coat of Orly Wont Chip to smooth everything out.

Novel Nail Polish is an Indie brand that can be found on Etsy.com. I ordered the mini-set of Game of Thrones inspired thermals - a whole ten of them! Dragons came as a fullsize bottle in the set  and is based off the character Daenerys in the series. It is a sheer base with purple/blue shimmer and a buttload of different sized holographic glitters throughout. There are small dots, big dots, squares, hexes....even stars! It's a very nice blend of purples, pinks and the occasional copper.

The formula was lovely to work with and quickly dried to a satin finish. The only thing worth mentioning is that it was VERY difficult to try and get at the larger glitters. They didn't want to come up to the top of the bottle even with intense shaking and rolling or even leaving the bottle upside down for a time. Toothpick fishing was even a little hard. The smaller glitters were fine though and applied very evenly and lay nice and flat.

Outdoors in Sunlight

Above you can see what Dragons looks like when cold! It's a nice, shimmery fushia colour. The change really is dramatic and you can see the hidden shimmer in it much easier.

Outdoors in Sunlight

Above is when it had warmed up a little to it's more sheer nature. It's worth mentioning that the sparkly nature of Dragons was so intense that my camera had trouble focussing. Just too damned awesome.

As if the whole holographic goodness wasn't enough...I pulled out my Messy Mansion MM21 plate and went to town.

Messy Mansion is an Australian company based just outside Canberra who create their own nail stamping plates and also stock a range of others - including the ever-popular Konad brand. I have shopped with them twice now and have been very impressed with the quality of their plates - their full-nail designs are much bigger than the average Bundle Monster or Konad which gives more options to those with larger nails. They do arrive with no 'safety-paper' as a backing, so you do need to be careful when stamping with them.

It is worth checking Novel Nail Polish out if you love something a bit different and certainly if you love thermal nail polish! You can find Novel Nail Polish here, but be aware they are on vacation at the moment. They also ship internationally!

Messy Mansion have plates of incredible quality if you are into stamping in a big way like I am and they ship worldwide. They have a massive variety and each plate has a good number of designs on it, including ones that have been flipped so you can use then pointing either way. Messy Mansion can be found both on Etsy.com or on their main website here.
